Club Corezze vs MHBC

A clash of the giants saw Market Harborough Business Club take on Club Corezze for a gruelling 60 minutes of high-speed dynamic netball. The game was dominated by the defenders from both teams, working tirelessly to keep the ball from the hoop of their opposition. BC’s Sophie Mills set the standard for her team and courageously attempted to slow down the torrent of goals. While Club Corezze were determined in their pursuit for victory, refusing to slow down as they stretched their lead every quarter. Club Corezze master netballer Kim Walton and teammate Rebecca Price resolutely defended their circle stopping BC’s shooters from hitting their target. All points from the match went to Club Corezze for winning all quarters and the match 47-18.

Forman Falcons vs Snowfinders

A ferocious clash of the mighty youngsters, with both teams out to win. The first quarter saw the teams closely matched in skill, with Snowfinders out on top, 15-13: Then injury struck, leaving the team down to only six players! Brilliant interceptions from defender Gracie Barkworth and talented Captain Hattie Bates kept Snowfinders in the game. Pure skill, grit & determination left Snowfinders only 3 goals behind at halftime! As Snowfinders tired, Forman Falcons maintained the pressure realising their opportunity. Great linking play from Livi Percival and super talented shooter Grace Brooks took Formans to victory, 64-34.

Foxton Flyers vs Turners Tornadoes

Buoyant from their recent win an optimistic Turner’s Tornadoes took to the court against Foxton Flyers. Turner’s came out strong and determined to hang on to their winning streak. Great linking play through the midcourt with quick attack and defence from the speedy Jess Hughes, quickly took her team into the lead. The injury blighted Foxton tried with all their might to stay within reach of Turner’s scoreline throughout. Commendable admiration goes to newly identified shooter Laura Burgess and the skilled and resolutely determined defender Jackie Latham, who did not falter or lose heart despite her formidable on-court opponent. By the final whistle, Turner’s took all the points and the victory 38-13.

Siamo Sirens vs Foxton Mavericks

Always destined to be a tough but good spirited game, Siamo Sirens took on the mighty Foxton Mavericks. Foxton quickly stamped their mark on the game, racing away with a 17-goal lead in the first quarter. A sterling effort by Siamo’s defender Keely Russell against Mavericks talented shooters. Coupled with great linking play from their determined Centre Laura Stuckey meant they scored in all four quarters particularly the third. Mavericks kept up the momentum throughout, leading by brilliant defensive play from Jodie Bellamy. In the end, all points and the win went to Mavericks 78-6.

Lutterworth Robins vs Harborough Harriers

The last game of the afternoon saw Lutterworth’s Robins take on Harborough Harriers. Both teams came on court determined to have an impact. Robins quickly stamped their authority on the game and took control, slowing Harriers in their tracks. Superb play from Robins centre court and defender Cat Hanger, slowed the ball from getting to Harriers shooters. Harriers defence in Laura Eaton and Sian Gander played with grit and determination throughout. Harriers scored goals in all four quarters, especially the final, but despite their efforts Robins earned all available points and the win 46-14.
