Snowfinders vs Aircare Lightning

A firecracker of a match with both teams playing to come out on top. Aircare Lightning were fast and furious from the off and quickly took control of the first quarter. Snowfinders refused to concede quietly and fought back in the second, to close the gap to a 2-goal difference.  Lightning’s Captain Hannah Forman was on fantastic form, leading her team from the shooting circle, and making life very difficult for Snowfinders circle defender Charlotte Maxfield. Points went to both teams but after a nail-biting final quarter, the match finished 33-33.

Knighton vs Siamo Sirens

A tough match from the off for Market Harborough Netball League’s newest team Siamo Sirens, as they took on the experienced and confident Knighton. The team from South Leicester dominated the game from the first whistle, with skilled play at both ends of the court from Shooter Tiffany Frost and circle defender Grace Litchfield. Siamo Sirens played with grit and determination and were rewarded with goals in all four quarters thanks to determined play from their Shooters Lizzie Buccieo and Amy McGrory. The final score was 68-8 to Knighton.

Turner’s Tornadoes vs Lutterworth Robins

Another thrilling match between mid-table rivals, Tornadoes and Robins. After a strong start and 15 minutes of action, there was everything still to play for as the first quarter finished 8-8. Tornadoes inched ahead in the second with sharpshooter Kelsey Leverton playing her all. Robins made a valiant attempt to close the gap in the score with superb linking and attacking play from Georgia Clarke and Kate Warren. The third quarter finished a close 23-22 to Tornadoes. With the final quarter and all still to play for, Turners kept a cool head, helped by the sheer determination shown by ace defender Danielle Nutley. At the final whistle, Turner’s Tornadoes took the win 38-34.

Harborough Harriers vs Forman Falcons

Former Back-to-Netballers, Harborough Harriers, took to the court against the talented youngsters Forman Falcons this weekend. Solid link-up play between Sian Hudson and Emma Walker up the court, helped to ensure Harriers scored several goals every quarter. Falcons, however, had determination and talent across the court from the brilliant Shooter Molly Blyth to the focused and talented Lexi Moakes at Goal Defence. The final score was 74-22 to Forman’s Falcons.

Club Corezze vs Aircare Thunder

Another exciting game flooded with young talent from the local area was Club Corezze against Aircare Thunder. Andrea Flewitt of Club Corezze was fierce and fiery in her control of the circle. Together, her & her team quickly gained control of the game with a 14-6 lead in the first quarter. The young Thunder were not to be beaten yet, and thanks in part to the brilliant shooting from Vicky Earland and strong defence from Maisie Williamson they managed to win the 2ndquarter and earn a valuable point. Club Corezze, however, were not to be underestimated and went from strength to strength in the second half, winning the match 45-30.

Foxton Mavericks vs MHBC

The final match of the day saw a clash of the giants, with Foxton Mavericks against Market Harborough Business Club (MHBC). Both teams took the court determined to come out on top. With the scoreline equal at the end of the first quarter (9-9), it was all still to play for! Points were earned by both, as BC’s went on to win the 2nd, Mavericks the 3rdand BC’s the 4thquarter. The match was tough from the first centre pass and dominated throughout by skilful defenders. Mavericks dynamic duo Jenny Dance and Jodie Bellamy worked fearlessly to lock out BC’s shooters. While talented Sophie Mills worked her magic to keep Mavericks Shooter from receiving the ball in their shooting circle. At the final whistle, BC’s took the win 43-38.
